On Sunday, September 13, I had the honour of serving as uke while Leif Sensei, Dōjōchō of Hiryū Dōjō, instructed Travis Sensei, Dōjōchō from Australia, in his training towards yondan. It was a valuable and inspiring training session, and I am grateful for the opportunity to take part.

On February 18, 2026, three kobudoka of Hiryū Dōjō successfully completed their gradings, advancing to 5th kyū (orange belt) and 6th kyū (yellow belt). Ikkan!!!

So yesterday was our last workshop for the year. It was a full day’s worth of rank testing, ninja biken, shuriken and eda koppojutsu. We had lots of fun and the traning was great.
